Do we get an A for Effort?
It's hard to admit defeat. It's not defeat. It's an effort, another attempt at salvaging something that we never thought would be in need of salvaging. It's not defeat...but if it were, it would be hard to admit.
That little saying has always seemed off to me...I realize that A is the grade, the assumed "best" grade, yet in my mind I always think one should get an E for Effort. Having written this, I do know that there is no grade E. It just seems less ignorant for a second rattling around in my mind.
Ahhh...another round of mindless banter.
